Cynthia Good Mojab is a Clinical Counselor, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Registered Lactation Consultant, Author, Speaker, and Traumatic Stress Consultant who is Certified in Acute Traumatic Stress Management. She maintains a clinical practice in Hillsboro, Oregon where she focuses on the needs of women during their reproductive and parenting years. She has a special interest in helping women recover from traumatic events related to the birth experience, pregnancy loss, and infant death, as well as in the development of evidence-based approaches to the delivery of breastfeeding-compatible mental health care. She is the founder of LactPsych, an international group of dual professionals who are working in the emerging field of lactational psychology. She is a nationally recognized speaker and author on breastfeeding, parenting, culture and psychology. Her groundbreaking chapter, "The impact of traumatic childbirth on health through the undermining of breastfeeding" will be published in the book Integrating Traumatic Practice into Primary Care (The Haworth Press, in press).
