Dr. David Bennett

  • Director of Trauma Centre (UK)
  • Executive Director Emergency Trauma Services

Dr. David Bennett served in the Royal Navy Medical Branch, then Ministry of Defence. He has served on the front line for over 33 years in an operational capacity in various roles within Government Service and the Police Service. Attending notable UK major incidents with hands on presence at crash scenes, bombings, suicides and aircraft accidents to name just a few. Having witnessed horrific traumatic events himself and amongst colleagues on scene he has always maintained a high profile in assisting EMS and public alike.

David has undergone extensive training relative to Critical Incident Stress and Critical Incident Stress Management. He is well versed in all aspects of Emergency Situations as can be confirmed from his Bio. David's membership of the British Holistic Medical Association was the driving force that led him forming the Emergency Services Trauma Specialists Charity which he was the Founder and Executive Director. He was for many years a member of the USAF CISD team in the UK. From these humble beginnings started a major programme in starting the Trauma Centre (UK) in July 1999. A Centre for survivors of all Traumatic events requiring immediate assistance or advice. The Centre is the only one in the UK assisting the Public and Military / EMS personnel on a 24 hour service. Patients and Survivors are referred by their own General Practitioners or self referrals.

David lectures, and presents training courses both in the UK, nationally and Internationally when called upon to do so. In addition to treating and helping his patients on a daily basis. His motto is, "We didn't arrive here by accident". A very appropriate response to all who come into contact with him on a daily basis.

Thank you David from the bottom of my heart for spending your time talking to me today. You are the only person who has ever listened or shown any compassion or empathy. You knew exactly what I was talking about, and I am so grateful that you shared with me your vast knowledge of complex PTSD. You have made my day!
A million thanks!
