Stacey Brown is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in Fort Myers, Florida. Stacey has served as a School Counselor, Behavior Specialist, Consultant and Staff Development Trainer for the Lee County, Florida School District. She has provided Intensive Therapeutic On-Site Services (ITOSS) for children in foster care and emotionally disturbed children, served as an Addictions Counselor for adolescents and as a Parenting Coordinator.

Stacey is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Florida Certified School Counselor, and a Certified Cognitive-Behavioral Counselor with a Domestic Violence Endorsement. She is a State of Florida Certified Clinical Supervisor and a State of Florida Certified Continuing Education Provider. She is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Stacey is a National Trainer for the Cooperative Discipline Program and is a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. Stacey was a 1999 recipient of the Lee County, Florida Golden Apple Teacher Award. In May, 2003, Stacey was awarded the "Raising a Ruckus Award" by Working Mother Magazine, a national publication, because of her philanthropic and advocacy work for children.

Stacey was the founding Co-Executive Director of Children's Mental Health Services of Southwest Florida, LLC, a nonprofit organization targeting therapeutic treatment and education for children and families. She was also the founding Executive Director of The Foundation for Professional Development, a training corporation that provides continuing education to licensed professionals in the education and health care field. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University and Barry University in both the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. Stacey is a monthly columnist for Southwest Florida Parent and Child Magazine and is a weekly columnist for the Fort Myers, Florida News-Press. She is a weekly commentator on the NBC Parent-to-Parent television news show.

This presentation focuses on how to help those affected by domestic violence (e.g., children and women). It was developed to assist all educators, attorneys and mental helath professionals in their efforts to assist vivtims of domestic violence.

Children's Mental Health -- Understanding the Common Mental Health Disorders Among Children

This presentation focuses on the defining, understanding and treating the most common mental health disorders that affect children's functioning.

Reducing Anger and Calming People Down

This presentation focuses on strategies to work more effectively with angry people. It is geared toward implementing such strategies in the workplace environment. Information will be provided regarding how such strategies can be used to reduce workplace conflict, violence and crises.

Anger Management

This presentation focuses on helping children and adults with anger management difficulties develop strategies that reduces and/or controls the expression of anger.

Stress Management

This presentation focuses on helping childen and adults to develop and implement strategies that reduce the stress that adversely impacts daily functioning.

Cooperative Discipline - Helping Teachers and Administrators with Classroom Management

This presentation will focus on helping teachers and administrators to develop skills and strategies to lead to reduced violence and conflict and promotes greater cooperation and learning. Bullyproofing and peace education, among other strategies, will be discussed.

Art Therapy and Play Therapy- Techniques and Philosophy for Traumatized Children

This presentation will demonstrate how Art Therapy and Play Therapy can be used to help reduce symptoms and functional impairments in traumatized children.
