Biography: Susan Folwell, LCSW, LICSW,
B.C.D.V. is widely known and respected
in Metro Washington DC and Northern Virginia
for her work in domestic violence, family abuse,
stalking, trauma and related issues. As a psychotherapist,
consultant and trainer, she offers a unique
blend of compassion, humor, expertise and keen
insight based upon over 20 years of combined
experience and research. Specializing in physical
and non-physical violence, abuse and related
trauma, dating violence, elder abuse, Upscale
Family Violence and Abuse, stalking, cyber-stalking.
She also specializes and speaks in the areas
of crisis intervention, separation and divorce,
moving beyond divorce, life transitions, healing
issues in recovery from trauma and abuse, spiritual
health and post-abuse parenting issues. She
is certified by Fairfax County Juvenile and
Domestic Relations and Circuit Courts as an
expert witness, and is certified in danger and
risk assessment procedures.
In addition to her private practice and consulting
work, she is a staff psychotherapist and program
manager at a Metro DC non-profit. Here, Susan
sees clinical clients and manages a regional
domestic violence system advocate program that

Workshops: Training
sessions are offered for professionals who come into
contact with victims of domestic and interpersonal violence,
or family abuse (physical and non physical). Basic training
alone, or combined with more in-depth training, assists
professionals by providing:
