Hector B. Crespo-Bujosa: Since
high school, I was always interested in helping
others. I did so by becoming a member of the
counseling students. In 2001 I obtained my B.A.
in Social Sciences from the University of Puerto
Rico, Mayaguez Campus. However, my interest
was so profound that I decided to pursue further
knowledge in the field of Psychology. I, subsequently,
obtained a B.S. in Psychology, Magna cum Laude
from Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus
in 2003. I have acquired my Master’s degree
Clinical Psychology with Distinction, in 2005.
In 2007 I became an adjunct professor at Carlos
Albizu University where I have lectured in Physiological
Psychology to undergraduate students. Throughout
the course I have emphasized the importance
of brain and behavior relationship as part of
the therapeutic processes. I have also received
training in CranioSacral therapy and Somato-Emotional
Release.
At present, in my doctoral internship in Neuropsychology
and Clinical Psychology, I have merged the knowledge
from these disciplines to offer aid to those
in need of strategies in coping with traumatic
events, anxiety, and other emotional afflictions.
By integrating Bio and Neurofeedback with cognitive-behavioral,
humanistic, insight-oriented psychotherapy and
spirituality, I offer an integrative treatment
to serve one purpose...”Improve the quality
of life of human beings”.
With this I conclude the autobiographical synopsis
which briefly recollects the experience I’ve
had in helping people who undergo traumatic
events, together with the professional activities
and educational background.
