Dr. Michael A. Borders is
the CEO of Growth Process Integration, Incorporated.
He has studied psychology and religious theology
since his dual major bachelor’s degree
(with honors) from Loyola College in Maryland
in 1984. He completed the Masters Degree in
Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University
of Central Texas, With a Marriage and Family
Therapy specialization in 1989. He earned the
Doctor of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology
from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena
California where he also conducted extensive
study in the integration of psychology and religious
theology; completing his doctoral dissertation
concerning measurement of the psychosocial effects
of psychological warfare in 1993. He has taught
various graduate and undergraduate psychology
courses and developed graduate and post-graduate
training for the U.S. Army. He is a published
author and Board Certified in clinical, forensic,
and trauma psychology. He is a Certified Medical
Investigator (CMI) Level IV (of V), and Certified
in Homeland Security Level V (of V). His specialties
include psychological assessment, Christian
theological psychology and spirituality integration,
and the treatment of adolescent and adult psychopathology,
couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
He is trained in hypnosis, biofeedback, medical
and neuropsychology and the use of the quantitative
electroencephalogram to enhance performance
(QEEG). He has worked extensively with military
families, and consults with a variety of national,
international, governmental and non-governmental
organizations to assist with needs analysis,
productivity and performance enhancement strategies,
communication mastery, and problem focused solutions
to provide a highly integrated successful work
force. He also consults with multinational organizations
for the selection and assessment of high-risk
occupations personnel. His emphasis in this
Global War on Terrorism era is on the selection
of personnel in law enforcement and security
occupations, preparation for overseas assignments
in austere and hostile environments with the
threat of terrorist operations and hostage taking,
pre-nation building and peace keeping operations
preparation, and mitigation of any inter-operational
and post-operational psychological concerns
such as those concerning responses to post-
deployment traumatic and operational stress
responses. Of special emphasis are the individuals
and families of military and civilian personnel
with multiple combat, nation building, and peace
keeping deployments. He has presented several
workshops on clinical, forensic, and organizational
psychology topics. An expert in the integration
of psychology and spirituality in work and life
